Mufasa: The Lion King is available to watch in cinemas across the country.
The film serves as a prequel to the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King and delves into the untold story of Mufasa’s rise to become the king of Pride Rock.
The story is told through flashbacks as Rafiki tells Simba’s daughter Kiara about the “circle of life” and why it’s important to “remember who you are”.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Moonlight, it stars Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Blue Ivy Carter and Tiffany Boone.
Also making a comeback in the prequel are stars of the 2019 Lion King movie, Donald Glover, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, John Kani, John Oliver, Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner.
The release coincides with the holiday season, making it an ideal outing for moviegoers and their families.
The film is available to watch in IMAX 3D and other formats.
