The Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has condemned the violent incident involving Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya at Nyayo Stadium Sunday.

In a statement on his X handle, Mudavadi noted that political intolerance undermines the very foundation of democracy.

“Political intolerance undermines the very foundation of our democracy, which relies on the ability to engage with differing views. We won’t always agree, and that’s okay. But respect, dialogue, and unity must remain non-negotiable. Respect must be given, but it must also be earned.” Mudavadi stated.

MP Salasya was attacked by a group of individuals during the Kenya National men’s football team, Harambee Stars’ World Cup qualifier match against Gabon.

Mudavadi underscored the importance of unity calling on Kenyans to shun division and unite so as to build the nation.

“Fellow Kenyans, no one else will build this nation for us. If we let division win, we risk tearing down everything we hope to build.” He noted.

Adding that: “Let’s choose reason over chaos, and maturity over noise. Kenya’s future depends on it.”
