The National Assembly has approved the nomination of Dorcas Oduor as the Attorney General and Beatrice Askul Moe as the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community Affairs and Regional Development.
The MPs adopted the report by the Committee on Appointments tabled by Minority Leader Junet Mohammed calling on the two nominees to serve with integrity and accountability.
“The National Assembly has approved the appointment of Beatrice Askul Moe as the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community Affairs and Regional Development and Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya,” a statement by the National Assembly reads.
Similarly the National Assembly has approved the appointment of Dr. Patrick Amoth as the Director General for Health.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly Administration and Security Committee now wants the national government to carry out an intelligence led disarmament process in the North Rift region to eradicate illegal arms.
The Gabriel Tongoyo led committee tabled its report on inquiry into insecurity in the North Rift that also recommends deployment of modern security surveillance systems like drones to combat banditry.
