MP Ichung’wa put to task over DP Gachagua’s transport logistics

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa was put to task by legislators to explain why Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua boarded a commercial airline to Mombasa for an official function.

Legislators queried the safety of the second in command demanding to know why he had not used a military chopper.

Ichungwa, however, dismissed claims Gachagua had been denied access to the military chopped adding the DP had preferred to use the national airline for his travel.

At the same time, Ichungwa cautioned at a section of bloggers over their remarks which he said bordered on treason.

Gachagua who was put to task to explain the circumstances that led to his use of a commercial airline, however, dismissed claims of any political undertones in the matter.

Further, Ichung’wa stated the DP had a designated military aircraft at his disposal for use.

This comes after the DP who arrived late at two separate Presidential events stated he had faced logistical challenges.

The leader of majority further scoffed at bloggers for posting content that he warned bordered on treason.

Meanwhile, the report on the Finance Bill by the National Assembly Finance Committees is set to tabled in the house for debate next week Tuesday.
