Mombasa County residents are set to benefit from the mass distribution of mosquito nets.

In a bid to combat malaria and enhance public health, the Governor of Mombasa County, Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, initiated the distribution exercise.

The event, held on March 21, 2024, saw the flagging off of lorries carrying nets, with key dignitaries including the CEO of Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), the Health Chief Officer, and other county officials in attendance.

As of Thursday, March 21, 2024, distribution updates indicate successful operations in Kisauni, where the process proceeded smoothly on its inaugural day.

The distribution in Mvita and Changamwe is set to kick off on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Jomvu is scheduled to commence distribution on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Nyali’s distribution is planned for Monday, March 24, 2024, while Likoni’s distribution is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2024.

KEMSA is overseeing the distribution process from drop-off to post, and cooperation is requested at receiving posts to expedite the process.
