In a groundbreaking announcement during the signing ceremony of a new Memorandum of Understanding at the KICC today, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai from UDA and ODM’s nominated senator Beth Syengo have been appointed to spearhead broad-based government initiatives in Ukambani.
The dynamic duo will lead the collaborative effort aimed at enhancing civic engagement and fulfilling the commitments outlined in the MoU between President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. “We’re determined to be the face of this broad agenda, ensuring the voices of Ukambani residents are front and centre,” Mbai declared with fervour.
The MoU identifies important areas of focus, such as implementing the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, fostering inclusivity, increasing devolution, and protecting youth livelihoods.
It also addresses urgent problems including the national debt, corruption, the effectiveness of the government, and the defence of citizens’ rights.
Mbai, recognised as a key player in the region and UDA’s Chairman for Kitui County, along with the influential Syengo, are poised to change the political landscape in Ukambani.
Their partnership is not just about collaboration; it’s about reimagining governance to prioritise the needs of the people.
As they step into these pivotal roles, Mbai and Syengo are set to lead a new era of unity and progress in Ukambani, signalling a potential shift in political dynamics that could resonate across the nation.
