A tasty weekend of Premier League action will be headlined by a blockbuster clash between
Manchester City and Liverpool.

Man City will host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on the evening of Sunday 23 February, in a
match which will be something of a ‘changing of the guard’, as the Reds look to claim a victory over the outgoing champions. Symbolically, this would confer the status of ‘champions elect’ to Arne Slot’s Liverpool – though the Dutchman remains well aware that the championship is far from
confirmed.

“What I want from [my players] and what they want from each other is that they fight in every single game from the first until the last second to get the maximum result and that's what the fans expect from them playing for this club,” said Slot. “That's what we try to do in every single game and it’s also necessary if you want to have any chance of a result in this league.”

Earlier on Sunday, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest will meet in a crunch match at St
James Park – a six-pointer as fas as the scrap to finish in the top four or five of the standings, and thereby secure qualification to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Saturday’s late afternoon kick-offs are headlined by a London derby between Arsenal and West
Ham United at the Emirates Stadium, while the early evening match pits Aston Villa against
Chelsea – with the Birmingham side hoping new signing Marcus Rashford can make a big impact
