Mama Rachel distributes food to flood victims in Thika West

The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, distributed food and household items to 203 families, totaling 1,131 individuals who have been affected by flooding in Thika West Sub-county, at St. Johns Kilimambogo Teachers Training College.

During the event, Alice Nganga, the member of Parliament for Thika town, praised the visit to Thika West, pointing out that flooding had affected over 10 villages, resulting in the destruction of livelihoods and homesteads.

The initiative has benefited the most affected villages, including Komo, Thika River, Mbagathi, Giciiki , Wendano, and Mukunike villages.

Mama Rachel Ruto assured the flood victims of the Government’s full support, particularly in growing food in support of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda commitment to the nation achieving food security.

Other leaders present were Maina Karobia, member of parliament, East African Legislative Assembly, Kiambu County Commissioner Duncan Darusi, and members of the Kiambu County Assembly.
