The National Women’s Volleyball team the Malkia strikers are back in the country from Phillipines where they took part in the FIVB Challenger cup.
The team is preparing to take part in the Paris Olympic games where they will be making a fourth appearance.
Malkia strikers took part in the FIVB Challenger cup in Manila Phillipines , where they were eliminated in the quarter finals by Puerto Rico who beat them by straight sets of 25-20,25-19 and 27-25 despite their fightback which saw Pamela Adhiambo stand out in her international debut outside Africa.
The opposite player was the match second top scorer with 22 points.
‘’The challenger cup was the eye opener as we gear up for the Olympics and we are going to improve on our performance and we will be trying to give our best and that all will be well with us’’Pamela said
The Kenya national women’s volleyball team also played an international buildup match against the Galeries tower highrisers which they won by straight sets of 25-22,25-16 and 25-20.
The Paris Olympic bound team will camp in Kasarani for a day before they leave for Miramas tomorrow for intensified training ahead of the Olympic games.
In Brazil Malkia Strikers is pooled in group B alongside Brazil,Poland and Japan.
