Conservationists in Malindi have intensified campaigns to sensitize children on the importance of conserving environment and waste management.
This is after it emerged that there is a re-emergence of plastic bags used by vendors to sell goods such as fried potatoes, chips among others whose potential clients are minors.
The campaign being spearheaded by progress Welfare association of Malindi PWAM seeks to enlighten children on the importance of living in a clean environment and the dangers of plastic wastes.
During every clean up the Chairperson of PWAM Kate Mwikali takes children through lessons of conservations with guided writing materials where they are made to share their understanding of the conservation.
Already it has proved successful as most children are able to explain fluently about what is a threat to the environment.
