Machakos County Minister for Health Daniel Yumbya has resigned.
Addressing the Media in his office Thursday, the CECM did not disclose the reasons for his resignation.
He revealed that he had tendered his resignation to the governor.
Quoting scriptures, the health minister said there’s a time for everything therefore time was ripe for him to vacate office.
The development comes in the wake of a myriad of challenges that have bedeviled the health docket including allegations of patients lacking drugs in health facilities.
Recently nurses had issued a strike notice over the county’s failure to address their grievances however they called off the strike after a meeting with the governor.
Before his appointment to the County Government in November 2022, Yumbya served as the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council CEO.
