Machakos County to set a level six health facility to boost healthcare

Machakos Governor, Wavinya Ndeti now says the County Government will establish a level six health facility in the new Machakos City in a bid to boost the county’s healthcare system.
Addressing residents moments after commissioning Kithangaini level two hospital in Mwala Sub-County, wavinya said the new facility will not only serve to decongest the existing healthcare facilities but will also ensure more complex health problems are handled locally.
The Governor said the masterplan for launching the entire project was already in place, noting that the rollout of the actual construction will kick-off in the coming financial year.
The proposed facility, she said will serve the entire lower eastern region including Makueni, Kitui, Kajiado and Murang’a counties.
A Mother and Child maternity complex will also be established in the New City to exclusively handle all pre-natal and post-natal cases.
