National Assembly recalled for Special sitting

The National Assembly has been recalled for a Special sitting barely a week after it was adjourned for a two-month-long Christmas Holiday.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula in a notice said he had received a request by the leader of the majority party in the House to have the sitting conducted.

The sittings will be held at the main parliament buildings commencing 10AM and 2:30PM.

Among the issues that will be transacted is notification of a special motion to approve the nominees for appointment to the Commission of Revenue Allocation (CRA) and conveyance of urgent messages from the Executive or the Senate.

A report from the committee on finance and national planning regarding the vetting of the nominees will also be tabled before the motion is initiated.

The House is also expected to consider the report from the committee of the delegated legislation and approval of NGCDF committee members for various constituencies.
