Tanzanian singer and actress Faustina Charles Mfinanga better known as Nandy has announced the launch of her own record label called The African Princess. 

Launched on Monday in a glamorous event attended by industry stakeholders, the label aims to represent and nurture female musicians. 

The singer cum actress who currently appears in the Kenyan movie “Disconnect 2: The Wedding Planner” shared the news of the launch on her social media page saying that the record label would make women a priority.

In her announcement, she also said that opportunities for female representation were few despite the many aspiring musicians with big dreams. She hoped that the label would fill the need and play a part in nurturing more female talent.

Additionally, Nandy said that the label had already acquired its first signee due to be announced on Thursday, January 19.
