Nick Ndeda


KBC’s Nick Ndeda, who is a host on the English Service’s “Breakfast Club”, has been nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Monologue for his work on the “Manic Monologues.” Ndeda is among the nominees announced by the Kenya Theatre Awards on Monday morning.


Other notable nominees include Nice Githinji, Patricia Kihoro, Brian Ogola, Charles J. Ouda and Bilal Mwaura who all-star, produce or direct popular shows on Netflix and Showmax including "Country Queen", "Igiza" and "Pepeta." 


Present during the announcement ceremony that took place at the Kenya National Theatre was Michael Pundo, Chief Executive Officer, Kenya Cultural Centre, Kenya Awards Jury Chairperson (2021/2022) Benson Ngobia, Kenya Awards Jury Chairperson Peter Ndoria – 2023/2024 and Margaretta wa Gacheru.


Speaking at the announcement Kenya Awards Jury Chairperson Benson Ngobia said that the nominees were picked from plays that had adhered to the highest standard of production which was evidence that the Kenyan theatre industry was ready for international markets.


Voting begins Monday at midnight.


Voting for the nominees of the Kenya Theatre Awards begins on Monday, January 23 at midnight and will be done exclusively online via the website. This ensures accessibility and convenience for all eligible voters.


Additionally, voters will be required to create an account in order to vote to maintain the integrity and verifiability of the voting process, ensuring that the results are accurate and fair.


Voting will remain open until 23:59 pm on 13th February 2023 and winners will be announced during the award ceremony, which will be held on 23rd February 2023 at The Kenya National Theatre.
