Earlier, medical doctors expressed deep concern about the whereabouts of Dr Omondi and urged the authorities to handle the matter with transparency and respect for human rights.

Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentist Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Davji Atellah threatened to stage a nationwide strike if he is not found.

“Should he not be safely returned by midnight, we will initiate the closure of all public and private medical services to locate our colleague” he said.

Dr Omondi was reportedly kidnapped as he was mobilizing blood donations for victims of the ongoing Finance Bill 2024 protests at Sikh Union, Ngara Nairobi.

The doctors and clinicians have declared they will offer free medical aid to injured persons during this week’s planned countrywide anti-finance bill protests.
