A section of Kitui youths have filed a petition to impeach Governor Julius Malombe.
Addressing the media in Kitui Town, the youth cited nepotism, misappropriation of funds and poor health care services amongst other grievances that prompted them to file the petition.
They allege that the Deputy Governor has been serving as the Tourism CEC for over two years, while both the County Secretary and the Director of Revenue have been in acting positions for the same duration.
“Everything that is being done in Kitui is being controlled by Malombe’s relatives. Hospitals are in poor condition, lacking gloves and medicine,” said Augustine Muthiani.
The youth are calling upon the county assembly members of Kitui to head to their call and oust the governor from office with immediate effect.
