In a statement, Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, emphasized the importance of Sudanese-led and Sudanese-owned solutions to the country’s political and security crisis. “Kenya firmly believes that only inclusive dialogue offers a sustainable path to resolving conflicts and achieving long-lasting peace in our region,” he stated.
He called for continued and enhanced involvement of regional and international partners including African Union, United Nations in ensuring that Sudan’s peace process is fully supported and guided toward success.

Mudavadi reiterated Kenya’s dedication to offering both technical and diplomatic assistance to Sudan, stating, “Kenya stands ready to support Sudan in achieving the lasting peace and stability it so rightfully deserves.”
He also highlighted President William Ruto’s neutral stance in the process. “It is encouraging to note that the participants in the Sudan peace process have recognized President Ruto’s commitment to neutrality and his unwavering support for a sustainable peace solution,” he said.
The Sudanese peace talks have drawn widespread attention, with stakeholders emphasizing that the Nairobi platform provided a space for over 4,000 participants to engage in addressing Sudan’s core challenges. “The peace roadmap signed in Nairobi is a testament to the willingness of the Sudanese political and civil society groups to prioritize the future of their country over divisions,” Mudavadi added.
As Sudan embarks on this crucial transition, Mudavadi urged all parties to remain committed to dialogue and reconciliation. “The Sudanese people have endured hardship and conflict for too long. They deserve a future defined by unity, prosperity, and security,” he emphasized.
Mudavadi further stressed the need for trust and cooperation among all Sudanese stakeholders, remarking, “No single entity can achieve lasting peace alone. It will take collective commitment, compromise, and goodwill from all parties involved.” He also warned that challenges remain ahead, stating, “The path to peace is never easy, but with determination and a shared vision, Sudan can overcome its past and forge a new future.”
Reaffirming Kenya’s role in the peace process, Mudavadi added, “Kenya has always stood for peace and stability in the region. We are ready to walk alongside Sudan, offering our experience, our diplomacy, and our unwavering support in this journey.”
