Kenya Army commanders visit troops under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’

Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Tarus, and his predecessor, Lieutenant General Peter Njiru Wednesday paid a visit to troops under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’, in North Rift.

They visited FOBs in Chesitet, Kolowa, Mukutani in Baringo County, and Ngoisusu in Laikipia County where they were received by Commander OMU, Brigadier Mboya Mwenga.

During a gathering with the troops, the commanders expressed their deep appreciation for the troops’ act of professionalism in multi-agency set up and dedication to maintaining operational readiness.

The outgoing Commander took the opportunity to thank the troops for their unwavering support during his tenure.

He acknowledged their significant contributions to various operations and encouraged them to extend the same level of support to the incoming Command.

He expressed confidence in the new Commander’s capabilities, noting his impressive skills and experience, and believed that under his leadership, the troops would achieve even greater success

Despite the successes, the outgoing Commander acknowledged the challenges in logistical support for operations. He reassured the troops that these challenges were being addressed progressively.

During his speech, the incoming Commander, Lt Gen David Tarus, emphasized the significance of teamwork as a force.

He underscored the necessity for unity in working towards common goals and objectives. He highlighted the importance of safety in equipment handling, particularly in areas such as weapon handling and transportation, to ensure the well-being of all personnel involved in the operations.

Additionally, the incoming Commander pledged full support to the troops in achieving the objectives of ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ by restoring normalcy in the North Rift region
