Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria have made a comeback in government with the latest appointments by President William Ruto
The Head of State announced additional appointments on Friday evening to senior executive ranks, including key roles at the Central Bank of Kenya, the Executive Office of the President and other key positions.
Some notable nominees include Gerald Nyaoma Arita, who will be the new Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
Others are Prof. Adams Oloo (Strategy and Communications), Maj. (Rtd) Ali Mahat Somane (Security Affairs), Dr. Silvester Okumu Kasuku (Governance) and Joe Owaka Ager (Secretary, Governance) who will be part of the Advisory & Member President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
Kenneth and Wa Iria have been appointed to serve as chairpersons of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) National Standards Council and the Procurement Regulatory Board, respectively.
Additionally, Bruno Oguda Obodha has been named the new East African Portland Cement Managing Director while Douglas Murei Kaibos takes over the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.
“The appointments within the Executive Office of the President seek to augment the complement of personnel supporting the Head of State and Government in fulfilling the profound mandate vested in the nation’s foremost office” reads the notification.
The President said the appointments have been made based on the recommendations of the Public Service Commission and in line with the laws governing each public office, as applicable.
