The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of Mai Mahiu – Narok Road.

In a statement on their X handle, KeNHA noted that the closure of the road follows sudden siltation, coupled with heavy debris deposited on a section stretching over a kilometre Monday evening at Suswa area, about 27 kilometres from Mai Mahiu town towards Narok.

The Authority is on site clearing the siltation noting that the exercise will extend overnight.

“The closure will allow smooth clearance of the siltation and avoid incidents of vehicles getting stuck among other possible dangers.” Stated KeNHA.

Motorists plying that route have been advised to use alternative routes including the main Nairobi – Nakuru Highway.
