Musingu High School Football Team,Scorpions, desire to lift the elusive national football title has been heightened following sponsorship boost worth Ksh.1.5M from KCB Bank.
The sponsorship ‘’ aims to enhance the team’s training, facilities and overall competitiveness’ ’statement from KCB reads.
KCB has been supporting the team since 2022, in a bid to support grassroot football and nurture budding soccer talents.
“KCB is committed to developing and nurturing talent from the grassroots level in our robust aim to elevate Kenyan sports. Musingu is well known for football so coming here today speaks of the value we attach to Kenyan football. With the partnership, we want to see more talented athletes competing locally, regionally and internationally’’, said KCB Branch Manager Kakamega, Judy Nekoye.
Musingu, is known for its competitive football team that graces national championships during the Kenya Secondary School Games Association.
The team christened Scorpions won the Musingu Open Tournament on January 27, 2025.
They finished second during the recently concluded Ambira Tournament.
“This sponsorship has been a game-changer for our students. Many talented players come from humble backgrounds, and this initiative has given them a platform to shine. We are grateful to KCB for believing in our vision and investing in the future of these young athletes,” noted Musingu High School Principal Bernard Lukuya.
During the event, KCB also presented footballs and training equipment to the team, further boosting their preparation for the upcoming County League match against Keregi Pirates slated for March 12, 2025.
