Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, has stirred up excitement fuelled by speculation after he posted an image with what appears to be locations for his next tour.
The image includes a tour stop in Nairobi, Kenya at the Nyayo National Stadium. It was included in a series of posts showing an ongoing negotiation for tour bookings.
According to data released by Spotify in 2021, Ye, is one of Kenya’s most-streamed top five rap artists.
As such, the rapper would be more than welcome in the country despite his recent controversies.
Ye lost most of his partnership deals with companies like Addidas and was dropped by his talent agency CAA after making anit-semitic comments online.
Meanwhile, the picture has caused a stir online with many making jokes about selling their lands and body parts to buy tickets for the event.
One X user wrote, “Waseme mapema dates ni gani niuze shamba ya babangu kule Utange nipate fare.” (They should announce the dates early so that I can sell my father’s land for bus fare.)
Another wrote, “Start marketing your kidney.”
While another expressed shock, “Wasn’t in my 2024 bingo but hell yeah.”
No statement has been released by either camp – The Cara Lewis Group or The Boutique Entertainment Company confirming the tour or the stop in Nairobi.
