Kajiado: Elders pledge to support Kenya Kwanza administration

A section of Kajiado elders have pledged support to Kenya Kwanza administration arguing they have reaped benefits despite minimal party performance in the last general election.

The elders argue that regardless of the 2022 General election results, President Ruto has awarded the locals with key major appointments.

Katoo Ole Metito, 2022 UDA gubernatorial candidate is the current state house comptroller, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Walter Raria Koipaton is serving as chairman of Kenya Wildlife Service Board of Trustees, Mr Patrick Tutui has been appointed as East African Portland cement director.

The elders maintain that though they expect more position from President Ruto administration he has demonstrated statesman leadership in sharing of the national cake.

They have vowed to vouch for the UDA party and support the Kenya Kwanza administration agendas. They expect the KWS chairman to address the perennial human-wildlife conflicts.

They also promised to rally the locals to support the ruling party in the 2027 general election to ensure the party sweeps most of the elected positions in the county.

In the 2022 general election UDA lost the gubernatorial post and three parliamentary seats out of five to the ODM party. UDA captured senatorial, women rep, two parliamentary seats and a majority of MCAs.
