Kajiado County disburses Ksh.80M bursary for 6,000 students

At least 6,000 secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Kajiado County have benefited from the Ksh 80M county government bursary kitty.

Speaking during the funds disbursement launch Governor Lenku reiterated his administration commitment to boost formal education  especially among the needy learners.

He directed the department of education to ensure the entire fund has been disbursed in a week time to avert learners being sent home for school fees.

Ksh 20M out of the Ksh 80 M disbursed fund  goes to county fully sponsored learners while the Ksh 60M goes to normal bursary.

The devolved unit has set aside Ksh 250 M annual  bursary with Ksh 125M meant for the sponsorship program.
