Uganda head coach Sherly Botes says her team will take the game to Kenya’s Junior Starlets Sunday as they hunger to overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit in their fight for a place in the third round of the world cup under 17 qualifiers.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm and will be played at Nyayo National Stadium.
Junior Starlets defeated Uganda in Kampala last weekend and they are looking for a draw to progress to the third round while Uganda must win by a convincing margin to deny the Kenya a chance to play in their second consecutive FIFA under 17 women world cup.
Botes says the team has also watched Junior Starlets games at the world cup in the Dominican Republic especially their games against England and Mexico where they played so well despite losing against England and beating Mexico.
Her opposite number Mildred Cheche says that the Junior Starlets have the will to play at another world cup and they will go for nothing but a win against Uganda on their way to securing another place in the under 17 world cup.
The 9th edition of the FIFA under 17 women world cup will be held in Morocco from the 17th of October to 8th of November this year. It will be the first time the competition will have 24 teams including five from Africa.
