The third season of the “My First Time” podcast will begin streaming on Thursday, May 30, on Afripods.
Created by media personality Janet Mbugua, the series has grown from a modest show into a beloved platform that hosts a diverse number of people sharing their first times.
This season, however, promises a refreshing twist that aims to attract and engage a younger audience.
As an advocate for youth empowerment Mbugua is stepping back from her usual hosting duties in the third season as she makes way for a rotating cast of young guest hosts.
She will, however, continue to serve as the podcast’s resident host.
This innovative shift is designed to infuse the series with fresh energy and perspectives that align more closely with a younger demographic.
The decision to feature younger hosts stems from Mbugua’s desire to keep the range of topics about menstrual hygiene, inter-generational as well as relevant and relatable to its growing audience.
“‘My First Time Stories’ Podcast aims to establish a dynamic, youth-led conversation platform that empowers young women to fully express their thoughts and views on pressing social impact issues, particularly those concerning their health and rights,” explains Ms Mbugua.
As such, listeners can also expect a range of youth champions who are driving change in their communities in their own ways.
