Makutano town in Meru County came to life this past weekend as locals gathered for The True Kenyan Fest.
The event brought together music lovers, cultural enthusiasts and partygoers in a celebration that perfectly captured the region’s vibrant spirit.

At Terah’s Club, where the festivities kicked off at 2 PM, young people danced alongside elders as traditional sounds blended seamlessly with contemporary beats in a showcase highlighting central Kenya’s evolving cultural landscape.

The event featured C.O.G Stars Band, Kamanu, Afro-pop sensation Wanjine and Benga queen Joyce Wa Mam Meru’s finest hitmaker Nassizu Murume.

MCs Nadia Mukiri and Eddu B kept the energy high, while DJs Abdalla, Slim Mzuka and Super Gibz ensured the music was top-notch.
The event was powered by Kenya Cane, whose brand manager Davis Changalwa expressed satisfaction with the turnout.
“The True Kenyan Fest is about celebrating the resilience, unity and cultural pride that define the true Kenyan spirit,” he noted. ‘’Seeing people come together, embrace their heritage, and create unforgettable moments is exactly what this festival is all about.’’
The event ended on a high, leaving Makutano craving the next edition.
