The government is on course of ensuring that sporting talents get tapped and flourish. Sports Principal Secretary Eng.Peter Tum says through Talanta Hela initiative the government is committed to identifying, nurturing and monetizing talents at all levels.
“We are here to affirm our commitment as a ministry to develop talents at the grassroots level to build sustainable livelihoods. Kwenye wizara ya michezo, mambo ni matatu- To identify, nurture and monetize talents,” he remarked.
The Ps was speaking when he graced the friendly football match pitting Nairobi Media Team against their Machakos counterparts played at Kenyatta Stadium,Machakos.
Tum,flanked by flanked by Performance and Delivery Management PS Veronica Nduva praised the organisers of the match, which sought to create awareness on Gender Based violence towards stopping discrimination against GBV broadcasting.
“Sports unite, it brings people together to share in a common goal and advance positive objectives within our societies. Such a cause by the media fraternity serves to strengthen this power of sport as an avenue for creating positive impact in our society,” noted Eng. Tum.
