Veteran Kenyan gospel artist Pitson, known for iconic hits like “Lingala Ya Yesu” and “Uvumilivu,” has signed a licensing deal with Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA).
This partnership will see Universal Music Group East Africa oversee the distribution and promotion of Pitson’s extensive music catalog, reaching wider audiences both locally and internationally.
“I am happy and blessed to be part of the UMG family. God has seen me through the music industry thus far and this is another sign of His grace and love that I will choose to walk with Him,” Pitson said.
Hitting the floor running, the award-winning singer has announced an album in conjunction with the record label titled ‘Brand New Me’ set to debut on March 7 that marking his return to music.
“I decided to take a break from music and take time for personal growth. I’m excited to embark on this journey and share some songs I have written over the years that will restore faith and hope to my fans and believers,” Pitson says of the new album.
Speaking on the signing of the “Niache Niimbe” singer, Universal Music Group East Africa General Manager Chinasa Udeala expressed his excitement at working with one of the country’s revered Gospel acts.
