The third edition of Golf Park Open which teed of Friday and is set to end on Sunday has attracted a total of 78 golfers. The championship is being held at Golf Park Golf Club, Ngong’ Racecourse.
A total of 7 ladies are among the players battling for the top award. The lady players include: Bianca Ngecu from Muthaiga Golf Club, Naomi Wafula of Vipingo Ridge, and Riddima Singh from India, alongside Margaret Njoki, Nancy Wairimu, Benta Kanili, and Mercy Nyanchama, all from Golf Park Golf Club.
This year’s NCBA Golf Park Open boasts an increased prize pool of Five hundred thousand (KSh 500,000), with the winner set to take home a substantial One hundred and fifteen thousand Kenya Shillings (KSh 115,000).
Defending champion Sammy Mulama will battle as he seeks to retain the title.
“I’ve been sharpening my skills and am looking forward to another successful year. The competition will be tough, but I’m ready to give my best and defend my title,” Mulama said.
As the 2024 NCBA KAGC Series nears its conclusion, Michael Karanga continues to lead the standings with 722 points, ahead of second placed John Lejirma who has 646 points.
The golf park open will also see golfers eran points in the World Golf series rankings.
