After a decade of empowering young women across Kenya, the Goal Programme has officially concluded, leaving a lasting impact on thousands of adolescent girls and young women.

Since its inception in 2014, the initiative has reached 90,679 beneficiaries, equipping them with financial literacy, leadership skills, health education, and employability training.

The programme, implemented under Standard Chartered’s Futuremakers initiative, has transformed the lives of many, providing them with the skills and confidence to pursue education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

At the programme’s closing event, beneficiaries reflected on their journeys, highlighting the role of the initiative in shaping their futures.

Pauline Aruda, a member of the Goal Girls, shared an inspiring message with her peers.

“Do it trembling, do it shaking, but you have to do it,” she said, encouraging young women to take bold steps toward their goals despite any fears.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from Standard Chartered, Women Win, and Vijana Amani Pamoja (VAP), who were instrumental in the programme’s implementation.

The conclusion of the Goal programme underscores the need for continued investment in girls’ and women’s empowerment to ensure sustainable progress.
