Local leaders in Mandera County celebrated Mother’s Day at the Mandera County Referral Hospital, honouring new mothers with gift hampers and other items.
Led by Sumeya Bishar, the CEC for Social Services, said the act was a token of appreciation to the mothers for their strength, resilience, and love.
Sumeya underscored the need to value and appreciates mothers, highlighting their indispensable role in ensuring smooth operations in society.
She assured that the county government would prioritise the social welfare and care of new mothers.
Farhiya Hussein, the Chief Officer for Women Empowerment in the Mandera County Government, commended the unique celebration, emphasising the importance of recognising and celebrating mothers’ roles every day and not just on special occasions.
