After six days of nationwide Ghanaian Trade Week celebrations in Kenya, the country was treated to a thrilling Ghana Trade Week anniversary Durbar at the Ghana Trade House at Sameer Park on Monday, 14th October 2024.

Over 12 ambassadors, led by the Ghana High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Damptey Asare, SADC Chairperson and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador Winpeg Moyo, Ghana Export Promotion Authority Deputy CEO Samuel Dantu, and Keproba CEO Floice Mukabana, were among the leaders who participated in the celebrations.

Ghana’s Ambassador lauded Kenyans for their immense support over the years in strengthening the business ties between the two nations.

“We intend to consolidate the presence of the Ghana Trade House in Nairobi as a springboard to the rest of East Africa. The impact of our partnership is immense and on a positive trajectory,” said Amb. Asare.

The journey with the Ghana Trade House has been a successful collaboration, and as a product of the AfCFTA, it has created market access, especially in logistics.

“There is an opportunity to leverage the possibilities between the two countries,” said Keproba CEO Floice Mukabana.

The GEPA Deputy CEO noted that the celebration had been a remarkable success, with significant support from Kenyans.

“For the last week, we have celebrated our anniversary. Today’s durbar showcases the success of the Ghana Trade House. We are glad that the ambassadors present here have endorsed the establishment of trade houses in other countries to increase trade between our countries,” said Dantu.

Starmark Marketing Co. Ltd Executive Director Kris Senanu stated that the Ghana Trade House has expanded its product line to over 650 items.

“We are impacting 107 manufacturing companies in Ghana with diverse products ranging from cosmetics, food, cocoa products, fabrics, wellness, and arts and crafts,” said Senanu.

The Ghana Trade Week has featured various activities at malls in Nairobi and Mombasa, including tastings of Ghanaian cuisines, a gala dinner, and the anniversary Durbar.
