Four journalists and a medical officer were on Wednesday assaulted by the management of a private hospital, which was closed by Homa Bay County Government for failing to meet the requirements of running a health facility.
The journalists George Odiwuor of Nation Media Group, Basil Okoth of KBC TV, Zedekiah Anding’e of Mayienga Radio and Lencer Akoth of Lakeside Radio had gone to the hospital to cover a story on its closure.
According to the Homa Bay Sub County Health Officer, Ben Otieno , the management of Sehhat Albadan Community hospital was issued with a closure notice for lack of an operation license.
The officer had gone to pin a notice to inform patients that hospital operations had been suspended.
