The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi is set to hold a session with Kenyan students. It aims to provide the students with relevant information about scholarships being offered by the institute as well as other scholarship opportunities.

In a statement Sunday, the University of Nairobi indicated that the forum will be used as a platform to answer questions about the scholarship application processes. The students will have an opportunity to find information on the procedures involved in securing the institute’s scholarship.

Confucius Institute Scholarships are available for international students in more than 150 Chinese universities.

“You will receive detailed information on the scholarships. The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi is looking forward to your participation,” the university said

The forum is scheduled to take place at the Confucius Institute Arboretum Drive, Auditorium Hall Block C on the 25th of January 2024 from 1.30 PM to 4. 00 PM.

“You are encouraged to attend if you are planning to apply for a scholarship in March to study in China this September,” the University posted

This category of students is not the only one that can attend. The communique says, “those who plan to apply for a scholarship to study in China next year,” have also been invited.

Another category of students who might be interested and can attend the forum are those currently studying Chinese or may be planning to study in China in the near future.

Kindly Note, if you are a university student, a high school student, a parent, a teacher involved in Chinese language education, or a member of the public interested in learning Chinese, you are highly encouraged to attend,” said the University.

These scholarships are very popular among students from all over the world.

Among other things, the Confucius Institutes are facilitating the international promotion of the Chinese language and the dissemination of Chinese culture.

The forum is coming at a time when the number of Kenyan students who are expressing interest in the Chinese language and culture is on the rise.

A considerable number of Kenyan students have also been traveling to China every year in pursuit of higher education.
