Former Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani has assumed office as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

Speaking at the NTSA headquarters in Nairobi, Mwashetani assured the public that the road safety agency will do what is within its mandate to reduce road carnage.

He commended the Authority’s management and the staff for their dedication to serving Kenyans.

Mwashetani was received by NTSA Director General George Njao and the head of Corporate Support Services at the Authority Jacob Sisey.

His appointment by President William Ruto was announced last week after ODM National Treasurer and former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire declined the position.

Bosire had declined his appointment in January citing wishes and interest of his community.
