Former KTN news anchor Michael Oyier passes on

Former KTN news anchor Michael Oyier has passed on.

According to his family, Oyier died while receiving treatment at a Nairobi Hospital.

Oyier worked as a news anchor at the Standard Group for nine years thereafter ventured into PR.

He was also a certified psychologist and offered counseling services until his demise.

He was the second-born child in a family of five and has left behind two daughters.

Fellow media personalities took to social media to eulogise Oyier.

Maina Kageni eulogised Oyier as a true example of commitment, discipline and encouragement. “We have lost a legend. Thank you for everything Michael Oyier… one of the very best newscasters I have ever known…. a true example of commitment, discipline and encouragement!!!! Sincere condolences to the entire media fraternity and the family (Peter, Paul, Olga) and friends. Rest In Peace Michael Oyier….“ 

Mwashirima Kapombe wrote: “ Truly heartbreaking that we can’t catch a break with death Eternal rest grant unto Michael Oyier, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he RIP. Amen!“
