Former Homa Bay County Assembly Speaker Julius Gaya has been appointed as the Political Advisor to Governor Gladys Wanga.
Gaya, who resigned from his position as Speaker on November 12 amid speculation of an impending impeachment by Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), had initially been offered the role of County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Trade and Tourism.
However, he declined the offer, citing a preference for a role that aligns with his political expertise.
Governor Wanga, speaking during an inspection of the modern fish market under construction, commended Gaya for his leadership of the county assembly, which she noted had been free of conflict.
She stated that the position of Political Advisor had been vacant and expressed confidence in Gaya’s ability to excel in the role.
