The dream of a World Cup final between Lionel Messi's Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal is still in the cards

To the football , this could be the last time we will see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo share a world cup stage in Qatar as both players seek to win the most coveted trophy in world football.

Messi and Ronaldo are regarded as the most outstanding players to have ever graced the game, sharing the stage for the last two decades or so.

The FIFA World Cup in Qatar is their fifth tournament, with previously featuring in the 2006 World Cup held in Germany, 2010 in South Africa, Brazil in 2014 and Russia in 2018.

With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at 35 and 37 years of age, respectively, the World Cup in Qatar could be the last shot to the legends of the game at the biggest stage.

As a lover of football, sit back and enjoy while they play; probably it's a chance not surely to be taken for granted, and in future, we will tell the generations to come how we watched Messi and Ronaldo – two of World' great's play at the grand stage.

But while the age catches up with them, would the two world's great football genius pounce their hands on the World Cup trophy this year?

In 2014, Paris Saint Germain star Messi was close to lifting the title but fell short against Germany in Brazil, while Ronaldo's Portugal, the best they have ever reached before, was in the semi-final in 2006.
