Food for Education increases monthly meals to 3.8 million

Food for Education (F4E) has announced that the organization has scaled its reach and impact more than 10 times in the last year alone.

Boosted by the launch of their 60,000 meal-a-day capacity green Giga Kitchen, the number of monthly meals produced increased from 315,000 in January 2023 to 3.8 million in January 2024, according to the organization’s quarterly donor report.

In total, Food for Education, the largest locally-led and independently run school feeding program in Africa has served more than 40 million meals to date and has scaled 30 times since 2020 to provide the most affordable school meal in Kenya.

These latest numbers come as F4E Founder and CEO Wawira Njiru accepts the coveted Skoll Award for Social Innovation
