Five suspects linked to the murder of Molo activist Richard Otieno will remain in police custody pending the determination of their bail application.

Peter Okech, Joseph Kihara, Evans Aseka, Geoffrey Ndung’u, and Stephen Masheti all pleaded not guilty to the charge before Nakuru High Court, presided by Lady Justice Patricia Gichohi.

They will be detained until March 27, when the case will be mentioned for directions on bond and bail.

The prime suspects Geoffrey Mavado, John Ndegwa, and Jorim Ngonga Sura are believed to have directly participated in the gruesome murder.

They were arrested last month together with Clinton Simantu, alias Muiruri, and Peter Mwaniki, alias Pinchez, both boda boda operators who allegedly transported the assailants to and from the crime scene.

The DCI revealed that Mavado and Ndegwa had previously been arrested and charged on November 8, 2024, for assaulting the deceased.
