According to the family of Lawrence Njomo, a 35-year-old civil engineer working with the American Embassy, he was killed by a stray bullet fired during an altercation among revellers outside the club.

The family described Njomo, whose 28-year-old wife is expecting their second child, as a jovial person who easily mingled with people.

Through their spokesperson, David Njomo, they urged the police to take immediate action to apprehend the main suspect, who remains at large.

The reasons for the confrontation among the revellers are unclear, leaving many questions about the motive behind the incident.

Two suspects were arrested and held at Kiambu Police Station.

They were on Monday taken to court where investigating officers filed a Miscellaneous Criminal Application requesting 21 days to complete the investigation and arrest the main suspect.

The respondents, Nahason Kiteme and Joseph Njenga Gitau will be detained for 10 days in police custody following the ruling of Senior Principal Magistrate Wanjiru Nganga, who deemed 21 days too long to hold the suspects.

Officers from the DCI spent most of Monday combing and assessing the crime scene and the interior of the club to determine what transpired.

The family, now beginning burial plans for the deceased, said that despite having viewed the entire CCTV footage and understanding how the incident happened, they want a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.
