Body of late actor Gibson Gathu arrives in Nairobi
The body of the late “Vioja Mahakami” actor Gibson “Prosecutor” Gathu has arrived in Nairobi.
His friend and fellow actor Hiram Mungai shared the information, "The body of our brother & colleague the Late Gibson Gathu Mbugua aka prosecutor (Vioja Mahakamani) will be landing at JKIA @ 8.30am. the body will arrive at Lee Funeral Home @ 9am#FareTheeWellGib."
The late Gibson died in Eldoret on December 22.
Following his death colleagues, friends and government officials shared messages of condolences to the family, remembering the actor as a legendary comedian.
“A great comedian of our days who constantly included a social message into his humour is Gibson Mbugua (Prosecutor). His quips were consistently funny and expertly written. You will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace, prosecutor!,” Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula said.
Adding his message of condolence the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Kithure Kindiki said, “RIP Gibson Mbugua (PROSECUTOR) of Vioja Mahakamani. Mbugua and his colleagues kept us glued to our screens on KBC and inspired a generation of actors and comedians who, to this day, continue to earn a living through ‘him.’ It is sad to lose one of Kenya's greatest theatre heroes.”
His burial is anticipated to take place on January 2 in Kinangop, Matundura Village.
