Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is currently in Laikipia County to assess and review ongoing security operation in the North Rift Valley region.

The CS is accompanied by Rift Valley Regional Security and Intelligence Committee as well as Laikipia County Security Team led by County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri and local Operation Commanders.

On Wednesday, the CS ordered crackdown on all political, commercial and spiritual enablers of banditry as well as key planners and commanders of bandit attacks.

Kindiki highlighted the success of Maliza Uhalifu Operation in containing the menace of banditry and cattle rustling in Northern Kenya.

“Eight (8) months after deployment of Operation Maliza Uhalifu forces, the Government is continously engaged in monitoring the successes and challenges of the operation, so as to address any gaps for a sustained program for eradicating the terror of armed livestock robbers who have caused loss of lives and property of innocent Kenyans for decades,” said Kindiki.

The CS noted that banditry in most of Samburu County has been contained with huge success registered in Baragoi.
