Organizers of this year’s Eldoret City Marathon scheduled Sunday April 21st have received financial boost after Safaricom pumped in a total of Ksh. 4.3 million.
The competition for the top positions during the 5th edition of the race is expected to be stiff with two time winner Victor Kipchirchir being among notable names that have confirmed their partyicipation.
Kipchirchir will be seeking to repeat his 2021 and 2022 triumphs.
The Marathon will consist of two race categories the full marathon,42Km and the half marathon,21km for both men and women .
The mobile telephony service provider have also supported the organizers by digitizing the athletes registration.

The marathon held in the ‘City of Champions’ is the brainchild of two-time Boston marathon champion Moses Tanui. It aims to provide a platform for upcoming, talented athletes and to help shine a spotlight on conservation of the environment.

This Marathon serves as the platform to bring emerging local talent into the limelight and connect them with the global athletic community,” said Moses Tanui, Eldoret City Marathon Founder and Director.
