On October 6, a SputnikPro session was held for the first time for students and teaching staff in the communications and media programs at Egerton University, the oldest higher education institution in Kenya.

During the online meeting, the Director for International Cooperation at Sputnik Vasily Pushkov talked to the audience about the current state of international communications and the work processes of a modern news agency.

The audience asked questions about Sputnik’s activities in Africa, especially the prospects for broadcasting in national languages.

Dr. Masaya Hillary Chakava, coordinator of the communication and media programs at Egerton University, noted at the end of the meeting: “The session was very productive. We at Egerton University are excited to collaborate with Sputnik to enrich our international communication and media networks. We look forward to more webinars in the coming days for our students and staff. We can also share our experiences with training journalists at Egerton, especially in cross-border journalism”.
