The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully recovered grabbed public property in Eldoret City valued at Ksh 3.2 billion.

The properties belong to the Judiciary, Administration Police, Uasin Gishu Referral Hospital, County Fire Station, and County Assembly.

The land was illegally acquired by private companies owned by high-profile individuals, in collusion with corrupt land officials.

Among the recovered properties is a residential house currently hosting a Judge of the Environment and Land Court in Eldoret.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret on Wednesday, EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi disclosed that 97 other properties worth KES 7.4 billion, currently in private hands in Eldoret Town, are under investigation for potential recovery and return to the public.
