President William Ruto has made additional changes to his Cabinet picks, appointing Soipan Tuya as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence and relocating Aden Duale to the Ministry of Environment.
The changes were communicated to Parliament on Tuesday afternoon by Speaker Moses Wetangula.
President Ruto nominated the first batch of 11 Cabinet Secretaries last week.
The nominations have been forwarded to the Committee on Appointments, which is tasked with vetting the nominees and presenting a report within 28 days.
While welcoming the reassignment, Duale said he looks forward to serving in the new role.
“I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring that the focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts.”
