The Dorcas Rigathi Foundation (DRF) has donated a motorbike to a 25 year old man in Banana area, Kiambaa Constituency.

Wilson Kungu received the motorbike after successful rehabilitation from alcohol and drugs abuse under the community-based rehabilitation program implemented by Dorcas Rigathi Foundation (DRF) in partnership with a church in the area.

Kungu requested the motorbike on February 1, 2024 during a medical camp for screening against addictions in Kiambaa organized by Pastor Dorcas.

Fellow bodaboda riders joined in offloading the new motorbike that was delivered to their colleague.

“I will ply the Ruaka, Banana, Kawaida, and Kiambaa routes, and also become a member of the Rubis Bodaboda Sacco. I have been riding a rented bike, but I will now ride my own…I do not know what to say, I am so happy. Thank you Pastor Dorcas,” he said.

The beneficiary’s mother was also present said “I am grateful to Pastor Dorcas. Only God can repay her for the change she has caused in my son’s life, and thousands of men in our nation who would have been lost. I am her firm supporter. My son will now become independent and raise his family well.”

“Kungu is my last born. He was abusing alcohol, and weed, but look at the miracle God has brought in his life after he has reformed,”she added.

Among those transformed under the community-based rehabilitation program were Isaac Mwai, Peter Kanyoro, and Lawrence Karanja who are now recovering coaches reaching out to those in addiction in the constituency.

The recovering coaches have undergone the deaddiction program for more than one year, attending weekly meetings at the Hallelujah Gospel Church in the area.

Pastor Dorcas urged the clergy, from across faiths, to open up their places of worship for the transformation of those living in the streets and lost in different addictions.
